What is an SST teacher?
An SST or a Secondary School Teacher is recruited into the Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 16. An SSTS is thus a Class-1 gazette officer. There are three different teaching cadres of SSTs as per their subject division:
- SST General
- SST Bio/Chemistry
- SST Math/Physics
If we take the Secondary School Teachers (General) first, they major in subjects like English, Pakistan Studies, General Mathematics, General Science, and Urdu.
Next comes SST Bio/Chemistry. A Secondary School Teacher of Biology and Chemistry is responsible to teach these core science subjects ad high school level.

What is the qualification for SST teacher?
