8th Class English Notes (Unit-6) – We Are All One Image Analysis

This image illustrates the concept of equality and equity, and thus aligns with the lesson “We Are All One”. The image is divided into two parts:

The left side of the image shows three individuals of different heights standing on boxes of the same size to look over a fence. While the tallest person can easily see over the fence, the shortest person cannot see over it at all. This represents a scenario where everyone is given the same resources (equality) but does not account for individual needs, leading to unequal outcomes.

The right side shows the same three individuals, but this time each person has boxes adjusted to their height, allowing all of them to see over the fence equally. Additionally, a fourth person in a wheelchair has a ramp, making it accessible for them to see over the fence too. This represents equity, where resources are distributed based on individual needs, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.

Answer: Yes, I have helped an animal in distress. Once, I found a stray kitten by the road. A speeding vehicle ran over her mother, and she was now alone, lying helpless on the ground.

It was a cold winter day, and it was raining outside. I gently took it to my house in the nearby street. I fed her a bottle of milk. It would go on until she became a healthy grown-up cat.

It felt very rewarding to help the kitten, and I felt a sense of compassion and responsibility. Helping animals in need can be a very fulfilling experience because it shows our empathy and kindness.

Animals do have feelings. They can feel pain, fear, happiness, and love, much like humans.
